by bitzo I think could be useful the input data for hornresp of this cab. so here's
Bass section s1=1350 con=22.5 s2=906.5 con=23.5 s3=1912 vrc=42 lrc=20 atc=3300 vtc=6393 pay attention to these tips -subtract cone volume and magnet volume of 2 driver from vrc -add cone volume of 2 driver to vtc -put 2 driver in the driver arrangement menu -in the spl screen, tools menu, directivity, reponse put 69 degree midsection s1=144 con=25 s2=1175 vrc=4.46 lrc=10 vtc=216 atc=550 pay attention to these tips -subtract cone volume and magnet volume of driver from vrc -add cone volume of 2 driver to vtc -in the spl screen, tools menu, directivity, reponse put 0 degree by bitzo divide all the quotes by 2,54 you get the inches.
divided all the quotes by 2,54 , get the integer value and now substract it to the quote divided by 2,54. now convert this value in your crazy imperial fraction. by bitzo A pretty stupid question but...a don't realise it since now...where's the 8" mid horn access pannel ?
by bee on the 2 i built i put the panel on the top of the box, not alot of room to load...... drop in the driver then bolt in.
by sinfinity ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A little bowl making with the baffle cut outs stuck together. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Finishing and loading. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() They are loaded with B&C - 15" = 15NW76 8" = 8PE21 Compression = DE500 On TD245 Horn. by cravings i always thought the 8" section was made removable so you just access the driver by removing the horn.
and nate, it seems like you might be better off rethinking the cab.. if you don't like it as is.. then using the 8" section and a 1" cd and horn of your choice over some other 15" section may be what you're looking for... by bee on the original plans the horn is made from ply, on the ones i have seen, and built it was loaded from the top..... on the fibre glass versions then yes, just undo the horn and slide out......
by bee i should of said the top angle piece of the rear chamber, i screwed in at the correct angle you need to remove this too. to creat a seal i used sillicone.
by bee on the plans i have there is no referance to loading the 8" horn, but on the new plans posted here it states the horn is bolted in to place and can be removed, to load. I allso noticed the 15" horn section differs to the plans i have. Im assuming the plans i have would be for the original version and the plans posted hear are the updated ones......
![]() by nrpinc I like the box the way it is. I think its a great idea. I was asking if it could be built with only 1 15" driver instead of 2 thats all. i don't want to change the 8" or 1" section, I was just wondering if it would be possible with 1 15" driver.
by bee yes any thing is possible but, with one 15" horn only it would not play as low, and the mid and high frequencys may be too over powering. I.e. in doing this it would change the hole concept of this box. You may be better to design a new box based on the extro design.
for example take one of the 15" horns then re-design it using a 12" driver, with a 6.5" horn and a 1" hf horn............ nrpinc what you need to remember is the xtro sounds very good as it was designed to sound. By changing its design may indeed make it sound not as good. by zekeriyatr cabin was beautiful.I did mid horn timber.I like the original one.You can see on my site.www.lefcamusic.com
by nrpinc Its says the recommeded drivers are the 18 Sound drivers. Other than the 18 Sound drivers what other drivers can be used. I am an authorized Eminence dealer here in the states and was wondering which drivers are suitable?
by saul eminence kappa pro 15 LF will probably work well, but check you can get the driver in with the doors on, as they are not slim neodymium magnets
by tamuks good job but need to know if i make a pair will it sustain 4 projection bass bins cos lm having trouble with recovering my mid-range after makin 4 projector bass bins with P audio sd18" speaker .lm thinking of making X-TRO but with one 15' speaker not two has any made one with one 15' speaker yet
by rooky (guest) Nice work can you build me one of these?...im looking for this design with just one 15"
Does anyone have the autocad files for the X-tro ??
I've find the PDF drawings but impossible to find the Autocad parts.... If someone have this in a part of his harddisk... Thx Quick Reply
